The 12 Best Boxing And Fighting Gyms In Bali
The Best Boxing Gyms In Canggu
FINNS Recreation Club: World-Class Fitness Club With Boxing Facilities
FINNS Rec Club is the sister club of the world-famous FINNS Beach Club and it’s home to the best fitness gyms in Bali.
They do offer boxing and Muay Thai classes and they’re happy to provide group classes, private group classes as well as one-on-one training.
Given that the level of the facilities at this gym is a cut above nearly every gym on the island, it’s one of the nicest places to work out and you’ll learn the skills you need if you want to compete too.
If you have a FINNS membership, you will get a discount on the lessons and private coaching packages.
FINNS is an iconic experience in Bali and the Rec Club cements its reputation for excellence in everything that it does.
And to demonstrate just how much this sport is part of FINNS’ future plans, they’ve teamed up with one of the biggest names in Australia’s martial arts scene to launched One Two Bali here in September 2023.
Sign up early if you want to get into these classes as they’re super popular.

Soma Fight Club
Soma Fight Club specializes in striking martial arts and you can’t learn BJJ at this facility.
However, they do offer some excellent additional facilities including ice baths and saunas which are very popular with the more fitness-focused guests.
Soma Fight Club is, however, without a doubt the most expensive gym that you can join and it’s very busy too.
Group classes are often packed out and there are no private lessons (which is probably a good thing for your wallet).
However, this is one of the few Muay Thai gym options that actually has its own fight nights and if you really want to learn Muay Thai to get into the ring, that might make Soma Fight Club worth the expense.

Zealot Muay Thai
Zealot Mauy Thai in Canggu is a Muay Thai-focused gym that has its parent branch in Jakarta.
It’s owned by Jeremias Abraham who is a well-known professional fighter and if you admire his style of fighting, this is a solid Muay Thai gym to choose for your lessons.
However, they only offer Muay Thai at Zealot Muay Thai and if you were hoping to work on other disciplines or do some strength training then you might want to look at a more general fitness club.

Mejiro Gym: Boxing, Karate, Kickboxing & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (as Escobar BJJ)
Mejiro is something of a legend in the fighting world and they’ve been preparing athletes for fight nights for over 40 years.
They offer Muay Thai and Western boxing, as well as various other martial arts on the premises.
Kickboxing here is in the Dutch style as developed in Amsterdam as a blend of ordinary boxing, karate and Muay Thai. It’s often known as K1-kickboxing.
Many professional boxers have made their start in this gym and Brice Guidon and Andy Souwer or two of the more recent “big names”.
Don’t worry if you’re new to martial arts, they won’t be dropping you in ice baths and expecting you to gain fight experience. Mejiro is a great place for beginners as well as top fighters seeking private lessons from the head coach to really boost their skills.
If you want high-intensity workouts that help with your strength training and Muay Thai is where you see your long-term martial arts interests going, this is a great gym.
You can also learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) from the Escobar BJJ gym which shares this facility. It’s one of the best gyms to learn BJJ in too.

Fight Right: Boxing, Jiu Jitsu & MMA Lessons
Fight Right is a decent-sized Muay Thai gym in Sanur and they also offer BJJ and MMA lessons.
It’s one of the cheaper gyms in the area and their multi-day packages are great value if you want to commit to some long-term training.
This is a nice gym for beginners who say that they find themselves feeling more confident in themselves after just a few lessons.
However, Fight Right hasn’t yet established a big name for itself and if you’re thinking about going pro, you might want to look for somewhere with a bigger reputation.

Hoyers Indonesia @ The Daily Gym: Dutch Semi-Professional Fighter Gives Kickboxing And Muay Thai Classes
This gym is managed by Iham Wahyudi. He’s a former Dutch semi-rp fighter and has spent more than 10 years giving lessons from this gym in Seminyak.
All of his sessions are one-on-one so there’s no escaping the effort that you have to put in. This is a high-intensity approach to learning your art, not a walk in the park.
He’s happy to work on strength training and cardio with you too, which is a nice touch.
He operates out of The Daily Gym which is a nice gym in Seminyak (it’s near the ShiShi Nightclub).
He offers a paid trial session so that you can find out if you want to work with him, then after that, you’re expected to block book and prepay for a series of lessons.

The Best Boxing Gym On The Bukit Peninsula
Jimbaran Warrior Boxing Club: Boxing & Kickboxing Gym
There aren’t a huge amount of gyms on the Bukit Peninsula that deal l with martial arts enthusiasts but one of the best is Jimbaran Warrior.
They focus only on kickboxing and boxing and don’t get into MMA or BJJ. Some of their fighters do go on to compete on the local circuit.
The prices for this Muay Thai gym are extremely reasonable but that might be to do with how remote this gym is. Their monthly membership fee for group classes is the lowest in Bali.
If you’re staying near Jimbaran Beach it makes complete sense to use this gym but otherwise, you will probably want to seek somewhere closer to home if you can.

Bali MMA: Best MMA Classes In Bali
Bali Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) was founded with the intention of delivering the best MMA classes on the island.
It is very highly regarded for MMA and their BJJ classes are very good, indeed.
You can also learn Muay Thai and the basics of boxing at Bali MMA but they’re not the main focus of this gym.
It’s one of the most expensive training options in Indonesia though and your membership only really extends to things fighting related, if you want access to more general fitness training as well, it’s not going to be at Bali MMA.
Bali MMA does offer private lessons but these are even more expensive than the group classes, which can be accessed on a monthly membership basis.

The Best Boxing Gym In Ubud
Ubud Muay Thai: Muay Thai & Weight Loss Gym
Ubud has a famously slow and relaxed pace of life and that’s what initially appealed to the owners of Ubud Muay Thai.
Then, after a couple of years of Ubud living, they noticed how flabby and out of shape they were becoming.
So, they decided to get back into Muay Thai and to share their passions with the local community.
This gym is super cheap for expats and tourists and the locals get a discount to ensure they can benefit from the great facilities here too.
The focus here is very much on fitness and wellness rather than fighting in tournaments.

The Best Boxing Gym In Uluwatu
Bali Training Centre: Bingin Beach Muay Thai
This gym is literally just a 400-meter walk from Bingin Beach, so if you want to cool off after a heavy session of fighting, you can wander down to the beach and splash about in the ocean.
Their head trainer is Jake who spent several years living in Thailand and fighting in professional Muay Thai events there.
He says there’s something that made him fall in love with Bali and he never wants to leave now.
Given how popular this area is with surfers, you could always study fighting in the mornings and then go surfing in the afternoons.
In addition to Muay Thai, this gym offers HIIT fitness classes as well as kettlebell training. The drop-in pass is reasonably priced for you to trial the facilities and the monthly pass is very good value.

The Best Boxing Gym In Denpasar
Takeshi Muay Thai Club (TMC): Only Muay Thai
This Muay Thai club is one of the cheapest on the island, which is probably not surprising given that it’s located in Denpasar which is one of the most cost-effective places to stay on the island.
You should know that they often take their members out to practice their skills in public and you might be asked to demonstrate your skills outdoors in Renon Square!
It’s definitely not the biggest gym on the island and we’re not aware of any of their students going on to fight professionally, but it’s a solid option if you’re in Denpasar and looking to work on your fitness and have fun.
Please Note: As we go to press, this club and its Muay Thai classes are temporarily closed for refurbishment. Please don’t visit this club without contacting them first or you may be disappointed.
