Uluwatu Cafes
Suka Espresso
Suka is famous for its local food and locally sourced and grown coffee beans. It has a delicious menu and the prices are very, very reasonable.
It could be a better dining experience, but the setting is very pleasant. We love their hearty salads and fish sandwiches.
We’d recommend stopping in for lunch or even brunch.

Drifter Surf Shop Cafe & Gallery
While this place is most famous for its surfing store, which carries the widest range of surfing products in Bali, its cafe is no slouch, either.
They offer superb food and are happy to modify anything on the menu to make it vegan if required.
We’ve found that their curries are a great place to start on their menu, but it’s their carrot cake that absolutely steals the show at Drifter. That and drinking a fresh coconut and watching the world go by it’s a superb spot for people-watching.

He’enalu Cafe & Resto
The Hawaiian tradition of poke bowls has made it to Bali and the He’enalu Cafe is the best place to experience them with an Indonesian twist.
They have both fish and vegan versions of their poke bowls and we can recommend either. The fresh orange juice is lovely.
It’s a simple place that’s ideal for filling up before you lay on the beach, soaking up the atmosphere of the Indian Ocean.

Balangan Cafe
This local cafe offers great value-for-money food offerings and has that typically relaxed atmosphere you expect in Bali.
We like that their portions are really big and you can get some great coffee while you eat too.
They bake their bread on the premises, too and it’s delicious.

Bukit Cafe
This cafe is all about vegetarian dishes, and they have some vegan options on the menu.
If you want some really healthy meals while you’re in Bali and want to save money, Bukit Cafe is a good option.
And they also offer some more carnivore options – their pork and beef burgers are very popular too.

BAMBU Kitchen
This hidden gem is great for breakfast, but be warned, there are monkeys nearby that might scamper out to watch you eat (the staff won’t let them get your food, though).
There’s a discount on your bill if you’re using their co-working space, which is quite handy.
Overall, if you want some creative flair in your cafe, then you can’t go wrong with this delicious menu.

Land’s End Cafe
This is one of the best restaurants in Uluwatu because it combines great value with great food.
You will only spend a little, but the atmosphere is excellent and they have plenty of delicious dishes to choose from.
We can recommend the smoothie bowls, which are out of this world; the burritos aren’t bad, either.

The Cashew Tree
The Cashew Tree is a mid-priced place. It is exceedingly popular and its reputation for delicious food reaches all over Bali. It’s a good mix of Western food and local dishes.
So, get to The Cashew Tree early or be prepared to be turned away by the staff that aren’t keen on a queue system outside.
In the evenings, they have some great live music to complement the food and their signature cocktails. It’s easy to see why The Cashew Tree is considered to be among the best Uluwatu restaurants.

If you’re looking for delicious dishes with a relaxed vibe, then you want to check out The Station.

Single Fin Bali
Single Fin is one of the area’s best-known restaurants and bars.
That’s not just because their happy hour is a raucous affair but because Single Fin is perched atop the cliff above the surf break on the local beach.
Look down over the Indian Ocean as you enjoy fun times.
But be prepared to pay for them. Single Fin commands the kind of premium pricing that you might expect at a fine dining experience rather than at a bar in Bali.

HQ Uluwatu
Wood-fired pizzas and burgers at an affordable price are what make HQ stand out from the rest as one of the best Uluwatu restaurants.
They also offer a decent range of pasta dishes and you can easily see when you walk through the door that people are having a good time to go with their food.
The cool atmosphere is complemented by their collection of music-themed murals and memorabilia. This is definitely a spot for your Instagram snapper to go wild in.
Sadly, there’s no happy hour here. Otherwise, it might be the kind of place to hang out all evening.

Watu Steakhouse, Six Senses Uluwatu
This is a great place and the steaks are served with delicious sauces that really make them stand out from the crowd.
However, as you might expect from the stunning location this restaurant occupies, it’s costly. The resort overlooks the glistening Indian Ocean and the ambience is fantastic.
Make sure to take a camera for some Instagram photos. This is the kind of restaurant that is a real treat, not an everyday experience. It’s still cheaper than most of the high-end restaurants in Nusa Dua.

The Temple Bar & Grill
If you’re looking for steaks and burgers that won’t break the bank, you might want to consider heading to The Temple Bar and Grill.
We love their Hawaiian Burger, which was a really good size; the Padung Padung burger looked good, too.
But what everyone who visits this restaurant raves about is the brownie. Soft, moist, sweet and heavenly, you can’t go wrong with dessert.

Tarabelle
This restaurant is famed for its doughnuts, but it serves much more than that.
We like their breakfasts best, which are generously proportioned and super tasty – the superfood bowls and smoothie bowls are big hits!
The only note of caution we offer is that they are often so popular that you need to book in advance to be assured of a table.

Sugar Rock
We like that they offer a great selection as well as some of the finest fresh seafood that we’ve had in Bali.
We strongly recommend going with the grilled Barramundi, which was spectacular, but be bold and try the ribs or the curry, too, yum!
We find the staff here to be particularly helpful and kind, so if you want to discuss anything with them on the menu before you order, please do.

Gooseberry Restaurant
It’s fair to say that Goosebury has been counted among the most popular restaurants in Uluwatu since the day that it opened its doors.
Try the exotic flavours of their crispy pork belly or go with something a little more familiar like the Wagyu brisket and you simply can’t go wrong.
Vegans will also enjoy good food at Gooseberry and their vegan meatballs are legendary!

Bartolo Bali
There’s an emphasis on slow, quality dining at Bartolo, so take your time because you may have to wait a little longer than you’d hoped for. It’s worth the wait, though.
Bartolo is a standout on the Uluwatu restaurant scene. The interior is all chic minimalism and offers fine lines and intelligent design galore.
We loved the octopus here, which was rated among the best dishes we’ve ever eaten in Bali. But it’s all good and you will be satisfied with a visit here.

District 6
This restaurant is known for its wood-fired pizza and happy hour specials. They also have some vegan and vegetarian choices for the plant-based eaters out there.
However, the best thing at District 6 is their breakfast, which is super cheap and incredibly filling, the perfect preparation for a day on Suluban Beach, Bingin Beach or Thomas Beach.
The great prices make certain that this is one of the more popular places in South Bali.

Ours
The hardest thing about visiting Ours is deciding what to eat. The menu is absolutely overflowing with delicious-looking options and we’d like to try them all!
It has an authentic Balinese vibe and it’s one of the Uluwatu restaurants that we always visit when we’re heading down to the Bukit Peninsula.
One thing that others remark on when going to Ours is the good service. The staff is always happy to go the extra mile for their customers.

The Cave By Chef Ryan Clift
This is the kind of restaurant that gets featured a lot on Instagram and TikTok because it’s simply gorgeous to look at.
The setting is kept in an underground cave and you get an incredible light show performance as part of the evening’s entertainment here.
The food is amazing, too. You get a vast menu that offers either a 7-course or 10-course feast! You absolutely need to book in advance, though, as good food like this is super popular.

Spanish Food In Uluwatu
El Mercat
Mid-range Uluwatu restaurants don’t get much better than El Mercat. They serve Spanish and Mediterranean food in a very pleasant space indeed.
They also have an onsite grocery store that specializes in the same organic, fresh local produce as they serve in the restaurant.
It’s strongly reminiscent of eating in Barcelona and in addition to the tasty fare, we can thoroughly recommend their excellent wine list.

Mexican Food In Uluwatu
Mana Uluwatu Restaurant & Bar
If you want a Mexican restaurant with a spectacular ocean view, then you want to come to Mana Uluwatu Restaurant & Bar.
We’ve always had a good meal at this standout restaurant and it’s reasonably priced, given the quality of the ingredients and the amazing location.
The gado gado and cassava shrimp are among the highlights of the menu here.
We can also recommend getting there a bit earlier and going for a swim in the pool before enjoying food and cocktails on the terrace basking in the sunset.

Lola’s Cantina Mexicana
Lola’s is perhaps the best of all the Uluwatu restaurants to go to for tacos. They have so many taco options that your head can end up spinning with the excitement of it all.
On Mondays, they have a happy hour, which helps to wash things down nicely, too.
One thing that’s worth noting about Lola’s is that they can accommodate very big groups of people easily, so if you want to go out with twenty or so folks, you ought to put this restaurant at the top of your list in Uluwatu.

Mira’s Warung
This little warung is in the middle of nowhere (on the road to Balangan Beach, to be fair) and it’s in a pleasant green and shady location.
The food is very decent, considering the low prices and it’s one of the perfect restaurant options for a lazy day when you’re trying to save money.
The staff at this restaurant are super talkative and if you want a little local conversation with your food, you definitely want to head to Mira’s.

Japanese Food In Uluwatu
Sushi Ulu Wasabi
If you’re pining for great sushi, then you only have a small number of restaurants in Uluwatu to choose from, but Sushi Ulu Wasabi is a fantastic option.
They use the freshest seafood to create tantalizing dishes that wouldn’t be out of place in Tokyo’s finest restaurants. The sashimi is excellent, too.
Yet, it’s surprisingly affordable given how often Japanese Restaurants in Southeast Asia can be very expensive.

Shaka Riki
Shaka Riki is your other sushi option in Uluwatu and the food here is rather good too.
You can take out from this restaurant and we often find ourselves taking a bit of Maki and some of their vegan offerings home with us.
Our only complaint with Shaka Riki is that the potions could be a little more generous. But if you want a solid Japanese restaurant that you don’t have to pay through the nose for, Shaka Riki is a great choice.

Indonesian Food In Uluwatu
Warang Bejana Uluwatu
You either love or loathe Warang Bejana at first sight. Their Balinese food is extremely popular with the tourist crowd and if you get there too late, you will find it’s crammed with people.
However, this is a testament to the quality of the food that they serve in this warung and its pleasant location and ambience.
If you want an authentic chicken satay or nasi goreng, you can’t go wrong at this restaurant and the bebek nering is out of this world!
Take advantage of their mocktails, too. The fresh juices really are super tasty.

Kelly’s Warung
Kelly’s Warung is right on Bingin Beach and it’s the perfect place to grab some tasty Balinese cuisine between the hours of grabbing some rays.
Bingin Beach has plenty of places to eat, mind you, but most of them are quite a bit more expensive than Kelly’s Warung, which provides great value and super tasty food.
They sometimes have live music in the evening when the sun goes down over Bingin Beach and it’s a lovely place to watch the sunset from.

Merta Sari Warung, Uluwatu Temple
If you want a restaurant to spend some time in before or after the fire dancing displays at the Uluwatu Temple, then your best choice is the Merta Sari Warung.
Yes, it’s a bit more expensive than other warungs, but then, it’s in the most prime location of anywhere in Uluwatu, too.
They offer a combination of Indonesian and Chinese foods and their dishes are inventive and interesting. It’s a solid place to grab a bite before the evening’s entertainment begins.

Warung Ubay
Vegans and vegetarians will love the extensive plant-based options on the menu at Warung Ubay. They do a delightful mix of local cuisine and other Southeast Asian dishes.
We really enjoyed the Tom Yum, which was spicy without being overwhelming and very reasonably priced.
The chicken kare is another standout entry on the menu at this charming little restaurant. If you’re longing for some authenticity in your food, you might find exactly what you’re looking for at Warung Ubuy.

Double Ikat
If you want the most upmarket of Balinese Uluwatu restaurants, then you want Double Ikat. It’s one of the priciest options in the area, but it’s worth every penny.
Gorge yourself on the lamb curry or the beef rendang and see what the finest ingredients can do to elevate simple, local cuisine to the next level.
The staff are also super helpful and truly knowledgable about the menu and they can help you work out what you might enjoy the most based on your favourite taste combinations.
One nice touch at Double Ikat is the free welcome drink and amuse bouche that sets the tone for a really pleasant afternoon or evening meal.

Mensa Restaurant & Bar
Walking a fine line between high-end food and medium-priced fare is, Mensa and most of the time, they succeed admirably in their aims.
However, you may find the portions a little smaller than you’re used to at other Uluwatu restaurants and thus want to order a little more than you would usually.
They have a strong range of local food as well as other Asian staples and some solid vegan and vegetarian food, too.
Mensa also has a very beautiful setting in a timber frame place that really stands out from the crowd in a good way. Remember the camera for those Instagram moments!

Asian Food In Uluwatu
Sangkar Restaurant
It will come as no surprise, given that Sangkar is part of the Bulgari Resort complex, that this is not a cheap eats place. In fact, you’ll probably want to dress up for a meal here.
However, Sangkar Restaurant compensates for this by offering one of the most stunning views in all of Bali from its clifftop position and some of the best food anywhere on the island.
If you want to enjoy the location without breaking the bank, we can recommend their afternoon tea, which is excellent value for this 5-star spot.
If you go for dinner, we loved the snapper and the chicken curry, both of which danced on our tastebuds in memory for days after.

Rocka at Six Senses, Uluwatu
If you’re looking to impress someone special in your life with a romantic meal in Bali, it doesn’t get more romantic than the location at Rocka.
The view over the crystal clear waters of the ocean below is absolutely mindblowing and we’d get there just before sunset to get the most out of it.
The food is all made from the freshest and best of local ingredients but incorporates a wide range of Asian cuisine styles.
If you want the view but want something that’s outside the menu, feel free to talk to the staff in advance, they’re very accommodating to special requests at Rocka.

Black Rose Resto
There’s a heavy accent on Vietnamese food at Black Rose and we can’t blame them. Their pho is the best we’ve had since our last trip to Saigon!
The banh mi chicken was also pretty good, though they used different bread than we’re used to.
The prawn summer rolls, on the other hand, were to die for and we could have eaten twice as many if we’d known how good they were going to be.
Finally, we had a very good Pad Thai, which had just the right amount of fiery chilli burn without becoming overwhelming.

Indonesia is famously part of the “Banana pancake trail,” named after the pancakes so beloved by backpackers who visit Southeast Asia.
And if you want the best banana pancakes in town, you go to Ayu’s Food From The Heart, where they are sweet and delicious!
They also have a nice little in-house library if you want to grab a book and enjoy a coffee at this sleepy side street location.

Clay Craft
The Babi Babi Asli menu by Chef Yanti is the standout offering at Clay Craft in the Marriott Hotel in Uluwatu.
It’s surprisingly affordable here for an international brand name place and there’s a pleasant, if unspectacular, view of the pool while you eat.
The service is everything you’d expect from the Marriott and if you want comfort food and a place that’s relaxed and calm, this is a great restaurant to choose in Uluwatu.

Italian Food In Uluwatu
La Barraca Bali
La Barraca won our hearts when we heard that they make all of their pasta from scratch, as a good Italian restaurant absolutely should.
They have some delicious fresh salads to get you warmed up before indulging in wonderful traditional Italian fare that rivals the kind of thing you’d get in Tuscany.
Their pizzas are amazing and they use their blend of cheeses to really bring out the taste of the other ingredients that they use in them.
If you have celiac disease, you will find their understanding of the gluten-free diet to be a real blessing and you’re guaranteed a meal that won’t cause you any trouble after eating it.

Filini Restaurant
Filini at the Radisson Blu was much better than we expected from a hotel chain restaurant. We like the vibe of the place as it sits by the pool area and feels relaxed and fun.
The ravioli was really good here, but the portions were a bit on the small side and given the prices, we did think they could have afforded to be a bit more generous with the food.
They do a solid pizza, though, which, as you’d expect, is a standard size and decent value for money.

Il Restorante – Luca Fantin
Il Restorante – Luca Fantin is an experience as much as it is an Italian restaurant. It’s only open in the evening and the fact that it’s in the Bulgari Resort complex tells you that it’s going to be quite pricey.
You should also be aware that this restaurant has a strictly enforced dress code, thongs and shorts aren’t going to cut it and they do send people away if they’re inappropriately dressed.
Dress to impress and not for a day at a beach club and you’ll be fine.
The food itself is really amazing, fine dining, Italian dishes that will leave you wanting to come back again immediately. The wine list is excellent, too.

Like At Home Authentic Italian Restaurant
This pleasantly decorated restaurant aims to capture some of the ambience of an authentic Italian dining room and we think they’ve succeeded admirably.
A Balinese chef might make their pizzas, but you’d think you were in Napoli, given the standard of the finished product.
We found the pasta dishes to be quite excellent too and could happily spend much of a day browsing the menu and sampling things here.
Sadly, we didn’t have room left for the tiramisu, but our friends assured us that it was fantastic, too.

The Place With No Name
This may be the only restaurant in Bali that refuses to take cash! So make sure you have a card on you before you go. The management says this is to improve staff safety, but we’re not convinced, frankly.
It’s an upmarket spot with an emphasis on local seafood and foreign clientele. There’s no denying the quality of the ingredients or the skill of their chefs, either, everything is delicious.
Our top pick is the octopus carpaccio but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Final Thoughts On The Best Restaurants in Uluwatu
Whether you’re visiting the temple or one of the area’s brilliant beaches, like Thomas Beach, you’re always full of great options to eat out at in Uluwatu.
You can enjoy authentic local Balinese or International fare at pretty much any price point that you care to name.
Things are a little more spread out, though, in Uluwatu than they are in some other areas of Bali, so make sure you have transport arranged to and from your restaurant of choice and, ideally, book in advance as some of these restaurants are super popular.
